How to Have a First Class Disney Trip for Less

We just got back from our fourth, yes, fourth family trip to Walt Disney World and I have to say, it was the best one yet! It’s no secret that a trip to Disney can cost a small fortune but thanks to a little research and planning, we were able to stay in a deluxe hotel with all the bells and whistles at a moderate price.

Thanks to David’s Vacation Club Rentals we were able to rent a Disney Vacation Club room at the Polynesian resort saving us thousands on this trip! If you are not familiar with the Disney Vacation Club, it is basically a time share for Walt Disney World properties and companies like David’s help match renters with owners who will not be using their points that year.  The end result is you are able to stay in a vacation club room with all the amenities for less!

This is huge because not only are you able to stay at the nicest resorts on Disney’s property but you have some amazing room options.  Traveling to Disney with a party bigger than 4 can leave you with limited accommodation options forcing you to book two rooms but when staying in a vacation club room, you are able to have up to five adults and there are even one and two-bedroom suites available allowing more guests which means a deeper overall savings.

Your best option when booking is seven months out from your trip.  You are pretty much guaranteed your hotel choice and you are then able to book all of your fast passes as well as dining reservations at the 180 day mark.  If you are familiar with Disney trips, all of this is a must to ensure the trip goes smoothly and you are able to get all of the dining options and see/ride the attractions that you have your heart set on.

A huge plus for us was being on the monorail with small children. Only three resorts are located right on the monorail line, the Grand Floridian, the Polynesian and the Contemporary. We were able to pack the stroller and keep the kids and bags the way they were from room to park without having to load up for buses when traveling to Magic Kingdom and Epcot.  Our room also came with a mini fridge, microwave, sink with soap and a sponge as well as paper goods.  We ordered a few groceries and items we forgot to pack from Amazon Now and with the appliances in the room, you are able to have meals in the room if you choose to.  The Polynesian Vacation Club rooms have two bathrooms which made getting ready for the parks that much easier basically cutting our time in half.  This was awesome because as we all know, time is money in Disney!

With the money we saved from using David’s we were able to take our two daughters to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, purchase the deluxe dining plan and memory maker all for less than quoted through the Disney website.  It was extremely easy to add the meal plan to our reservation.  I was able to buy Disney gift cards and got cash back through Upromise which basically paid for our Memory Maker. The Memory Maker is a must when at Disney World! The Memory Maker is a package that includes all of your ride pictures, character meet and greets and any pictures taken throughout the park by the many, many photographers.  It’s an incredible deal!

Back to the dining plan, alcoholic beverages are now included and it was honestly nice to be able to enjoy a mimosa with breakfast and wine with lunch and dinner! We kept a running tab while we were there to see if the meal plan was actually a good deal and if we had paid out of pocket we would have spent over $1,000 more!

We took things a step further and bought our tickets for the theme park through Undercover Tourist which ended up being the cheapest place to purchase tickets for Disney World.  With all of these savings, we were able to purchase tickets to an exclusive event called Disney After Hours which only happens a handful of times a year.  While the price is hefty, we had saved so much by booking through David’s, we took the plunge and had three hours at Magic Kingdom with a small amount of people.

Literally no one around at the after hours! So much fun!!!!

The Disney After Hours was an incredible experience and we felt like we were the only ones in the park. We rode so many rides where we were the only passengers and we were able to stay on the rides without having to get off. It was truly magical!  The rides that can take hours to get on were no wait and we were able to meet all of the characters in Magic Kingdom with no wait! I highly recommend this event! In fact, in the future I would book a trip around the times it is offered!

Thanks to David’s Vacation Club Rentals, we were able to have the trip of a lifetime! All the money we saved allowed us to really enjoy ourselves and the convenience of the hotels location and room amenities made the trip that much more enjoyable!

So if you are planning a trip to Disney, I highly suggest you book through David’s. The website is so user-friendly and their staff is extremely knowledgeable and always available for all of your questions.

When’s your next Disney trip!?
